HARTING introduces two innovative new solutions to the har-flex family

The har-flex Power connector by HARTING

Always in the process of developing new innovations, HARTING Canada recently introduced two new products in its har-flex connector series. The compact designs and high variability of these units offer a freely scalable connection technology that allows device manufacturers to meet the demands of miniaturization in the age of Industry 4.0.

These new connectors, har-flex Power and har-flex Hybrid, maintain HARTING’s long-term reputation as a leading, cutting-edge technology manufacturer.

The standard har-flex connector has a pitch of 1.27 millimetres (mm), but the Power has a 2.54-mm pitch. This unit was designed particularly to transmit high currents between 12 and 26 A, depending on the ambient temperature and pole count. A modular manufacturing concept enables the flexible pole numbers from two to 12, and customers can choose between SMT and THR power contact versions.

The Power is available in a straight or angled design, and it can be used in parallel-board, extender-card, and motherboard-to-daughterboard configurations. Due to the same form factor, Power and Signal can be used together on the same printed circuit board (PCB); this enables a strict separation of signal and power as a coherent connector system is maintained.

The Hybrid is a special feature of the har-flex series of which the modular manufacturing concept is the blend of signal and power contacts. This makes compact and versatile connection solutions, perfect for miniaturized PCB systems, possible. HARTING offers the Hybrid in straight and angled designs, and it can be used in parallel (mezzanine) board, extender card, and motherboard-to-daughterboard configurations. Users can save space and effort on a PCB with Hybrid connectors, which are perfect for control applications like modular IO systems.
