For more than three-quarters of a century, industry around the world has benefited from innovative connectivity solutions by The HARTING Technology Group. This includes Canadian manufacturers, who work with HARTING Canada. Throughout the corporation’s 75-year history, one of its primary focuses has always been breaking new ground in innovation. This year, HARTING has expanded its long-term collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge, MA, through its Industrial Liaison Program (ILP).

Expansion of a longstanding cooperation

With this expansion of a longstanding cooperation, HARTING and MIT will help to identify innovative CONNECTIVITY+ opportunities. By joining the ILP, the HARTING team has become a member of one of the leading innovation ecosystems in the world.

The ILP is industry’s most comprehensive portal to MIT, and it allows manufacturers all over the globe to harness the Institute’s resources in order to address the current challenges and to anticipate future needs. Along with the MIT Startup Exchange, this is a membership-based program for large companies that are interested in long-term, strategic relationships with the college. The ILP engages with organizations from many countries, in many sectors, that are concerned with emerging research- and education-driven results that will transform industry.

“Participation in the MIT Industrial Liaison Program will support us in our endeavours,” said Dr.-Ing. Kurt D. Bettenhausen, HARTING’s board member for new technologies and development, “to offer our partners worldwide, and especially in the U.S.A., measurable added value.”

Karl F. Koster, the executive director of corporate relationships for the MIT ILP, was also pleased with the expanded association between the organizations. “We are delighted to welcome the German technology company HARTING,” he said, “a global market and technology leader for industrial connection technology, to push forward innovative opportunities.”

More than 800 of the world’s top companies, like HARTING, collaborate with MIT researchers these days. Working together through programs like the ILP, the Institute and industry bring knowledge to bear on the greatest technological challenges.

The HARTING Technology Group remains a leading provider of industrial connection technology for the three lifelines of data, signal, and power.
