After another record year in sales and market penetration, the HARTING Technology Group’s Canadian division credits its success to its sales network, after-sales engineering support, and dedication to innovative connector products. The company plans to stay successful by leveraging a comprehensive customer strategy and introducing products that conform to major industry trends.

HARTING Canada celebrated double-digit revenue growth at its annual Canadian media luncheon in Toronto on July 23. Members of the media got to see the company’s latest connector products and to meet its new Ontario sales manager, Peter Hanna.

A 14 per cent increase

In the fiscal year ending Sept. 30, HARTING’s worldwide sales totalled €672 million, an increase of 14.7 per cent and the highest total in the corporation’s history. This included a 22 per cent sales increase in the Americas.

“Our Canadian sales strategy focuses on market diversification and developing brand awareness,” says Carl Maalouf, HARTING Canada’s sales director, “while maintaining our leadership in transportation, machinery and broadcast and entertainment.”

Ashley Smith-Heine, the vice president of sales for HARTING Americas, says that HARTING is virtually synonymous with innovation. “That’s been our story for almost three quarters of a century, and it’s a big part of our success in Canada specifically,” she says. “Our solutions for both industrial and board-level connectivity are designed to facilitate the adoption of conventional or advanced production concepts in factory and process automation.”

Recent HARTING innovations include: the first Han-Smart inserts for Han-Modular connector products; iX Ethernet connectors that require 70 per cent less installation space than RJ45 interfaces do; M8 D-Code connectors, which are 30 per cent smaller than the M12 D-Code; and M12 PushPull connectors for tight spaces.

“We have never launched so many new, groundbreaking HARTING products into the North American marketplace as we are today,” says Smith-Heine.

Next on HARTING’s agenda is the release of its new MICA starter kits, which made an appearance at the Toronto luncheon. With hardware and preloaded software ready to go, these kits will make it simple to implement basic IIoT processes. They will be available in mid-August.
