Heli-Coil inserts

Heli-Coil inserts are screw thread coils that are precision formed using stainless steel wire with a diamond-shaped cross section. Once they have been installed in Heli-Coil tapped holes, the inserts provide permanent threading with conventional 60 degree internal screw threads, allowing them to accommodate any standard screw or bolt.

Heli-Coil inserts were originally developed in the 1930s to accommodate the needs of the aircraft industry. They were later used as original equipment on the Boeing 747 and every space shuttle. Today, some common applications for Heli-Coil threaded inserts include automotive, communication, aerospace and defence. All HeliCoil products are ISO certified and built to military standards.
