The 12D‐GX160 pump by Gorman-Rupp

York Fluid Controls Ltd. is Canada’s source of fluid-handling products by Gorman-Rupp, including self-priming centrifugal pumps. The 12D‐GX160 and 12D1‐GX160 models are gasoline-engine-driven units measuring two-by-two inches NPT (female), with pressures ranging from 13 to 76 pounds per square inch (psi) and suction lift from five to 25 inches.

Depending on individual pressure capability and suction lift, customers can get capacities from 46 to 180 gallons per minute at continuous performance from these Gorman-Rupp pumps.

With manual rotary stop switch

The 12D‐GX160 and 12D1‐GX160 are constructed with aluminum alloy casing, and each has a semi-open, two-vane impeller made of ductile iron that can handle spherical solids up to 30.2 millimetres in diameter. Other features of these two pumps from York Fluid Controls: carbon steel replaceable wear plate; aluminum alloy removable cover plate; grey iron intermediate bracket; flap valve; aluminum alloy suction flange; cork gaskets; standard plated steel hardware; roll cage with rubber feet; discharge elbow; and strainer.

In addition, the 12D‐GX160 has a double grease-lubricated seal with a spring-loaded grease cup, plus sintered bronze stationary seal seats, steel rotating faces, neoprene packing rings, and a copper alloy seal liner. This pump can handle fluids at a maximum temperature of 43 degrees Celsius and a maximum suction pressure of 10 psi. The 12D1‐GX160 has a Type 31, mechanical, self-lubricated seal with silicon carbine rotating and stationary faces, fluorocarbon elastomers, a 316 stainless steel cage and spring, and a 304 stainless steel shaft sleeve. This model can pump liquid at a maximum temperature of 71 degrees Celsius. An optional wheel kit with semi-pneumatic tires is available for either model.

Each of these pumps works with reliable Honda GX160 gasoline engines, four cycle, air cooled, overhead valve design. Among the technical specifications for this engine: 5.5 horsepower, horizontal-type carburetor; splash-system lubrication; dual-element, dry-type air cleaner; 3.6-litre fuel tank; full-load operating time of two hours; and rope-rewind starter. Other standard features include a muffler with guard, manual rotary stop switch, and manual choke and throttle control with top speed limit.
