Glass outerwraps offer protection under and above ground, and underwater

Denso North America’s portfolio of protective outerwraps includes a line of glass outerwraps designed to be installed over the company’s petrolatum and marine piling tapes for maximum protection. Three varieties are available, each offering various benefits to meet the needs of a range of applications.

The lineup

Denso Glass Outerwrap is a fibreglass cloth that is impregnated with a water-activated resin. Its ideal use is as a protective outerwrap over Denso petrolatum tape. Also available, Denso Glass Outerwrap 70 is a fibreglass cloth impregnated with a water-activated resin that is used as a protective outerwrap over Denso marine piling tape. The third option is Denso Glass Outerwrap UV, a fibreglass cloth impregnated with a water-activated aliphatic polyurethane resin that is used as a protective outerwrap over Denso petrolatum tape.

The advantages

All three options offer exceptional mechanical and impact strength for underwater, underground and above ground pipe and piles. They are designed to resist cold and hot temperatures, as well as water, acid, salts and soil organics, and are solvent-free. Minimal surface preparation is required for application, and they are all easy to apply, even under water or to wet surfaces. No mixing or messy cleanup is required. The result is a top-quality product that offers quick, long-term protective coating that is ready for immediate service. The Glass Outerwrap UV also offers UV-resistance.
