John Brooks Company made a large donation to Youth Empowerment & Support Services.

John Brooks Company Limited has succeeded for 85 years by supplying world-class fluid-handling solutions to Canadian businesses. But the company contributes to society in other ways. Guided by its values and the support of its colleagues, John Brooks Company prioritizes giving back to the community and contributing to a better future.

By helping others and supporting charities, programs, and initiatives across the country, the organization takes pride in supporting the community.

Six pillars of value

There are six pillars of value through which the company commits itself to contributing to the community: customers first; entrepreneurial spirit; respect; performance excellence; integrity; and innovation. And John Brooks Company is committed to supporting the community where its workers and businesses reside by contributing to organizations that share these same values. Last year alone, the firm proudly donated to several organizations that affect their communities positively:

  • Campfire Circle ($5,000)
  • Fondation Dr Julien ($10,000)
  • Youth Empowerment & Support Services ($10,000)
  • Heart House Hospice ($15,000)
  • Our Place Peel ($15,000)

In addition, the John Brooks Company team once raised $9,015 in the Heart & Stroke Foundation’s Annual Big Bike Challenge.

The firm once donated E-One pumps to a Habitat for Humanity project, for use in a Milton, Ont.  house that is slated to be a home of two families in need. Twenty-four John Brooks Company employees participated in “Build Days” to assist with the house’s physical construction too. These volunteers helped with the plumbing, duct work, basement insulation, and construction of an outdoor deck – all in outdoor temperatures above 30 degrees Celsius.

The 24 volunteers impressed Habitat for Humanity with their teamwork and dedication, even skipping snack breaks and staying late to get their tasks completed. All of them arrived onsite at 8:30 a.m. and were eager to learn their various jobs from trained contractors, even though the tasks were completely new to their experiences.

Being a great company is more than just providing great products and services – it’s also about being a solid corporate citizen. John Brooks Company proves its worth by giving back to the community it serves.
