Pepperl+Fuchs’ advanced Bebco EPS purge and pressurization system is designed to provide reliable protection for general-purpose electrical equipment in Zone 1/21 hazardous locations. Building on the highly successful 6000 Series purge system, the new 6500 Series offers several advancements.

Dual-rated: The 6500 Series has a dual rating for Zone and Division locations, making it the ideal choice for areas requiring only Zone-rated protection methods.

Enhanced communications: The new system includes a communication port compatible with HART RS485, and Bluetooth communications for remote interfacing and monitoring of purging activities. This capability means the systems will integrate well into remote and virtualized systems. The unit also has a dedicated monitoring and control app for Apple, Android and Blackberry devices that is free to download and use.

Fully automatic: The 6500 Series is a fully automatic system that purges a common enclosure of hazardous gas or dust to maintain positive pressure. It includes automatic monitoring and control of enclosure pressure and temperature with dilution and continuous flow functionality.

Certification: The 6500 reduces the classification within the protected enclosure from Zone 1/21 to a non-hazardous area. It carries ATEX/IECEx certification for gas and dust, and operates on enclosure sizes up to 12.7 cubic metres (450 cubic feet).

Additional details: The 6500 Series is designed in 316L stainless steel, and features menu-driven programming.

This all-in-one solution for Zone 1/21 applications is available in Canada from Process Instruments & Components (P.I.C.), an established Canadian industrial controls distributor. The Markham, Ont.-based company offers products from leading manufacturers like Pepperl+Fuchs, and has experience serving a wide range of industries.
