Low maintenance and light weight

Oil-less rocking piston technology by Gast has resulted in the manufacture of its dry sprinkler compressors. The company’s American-based design and production features internal baffling for extremely quiet operation, industrial-grade shock mounts for minimal vibration, and highly engineered cup-seal materials for unsurpassed life expectancy. Oil-free operation results in reduced maintenance, and the compact twin-cylinder design requires no separate drive belts; it also results in light weight and easier service than required for lubricated compressors.

Installation requires three easy steps: the user mounts the bracket with a pipe clamp, hangs the system on the bracket, and then secures the lower pipe clamp. Riser- and floor-mount-capable, the 87R-100S comes from Wainbee with pipe clamps for mounting, a two-foot connector hose, and an inlet filter. An optional floor-mount kit is available to convert the riser mount to floor placement. The user can convert the system to a floor installation for extra flexibility. The system uses Gast’s oil-less rocking piston-style compressor with the industry’s lowest sound levels, plus longer life and higher electrical efficiency than competing models have.

Also included is a durable digital pressure switch that provides wide system capacity in one unit. Gast has designed this switch to comply with NFPA-13 standards for initial pump-up time, and it is rated for 40 and 18 pounds per square inch. The switch can also set cut-in and cut-out pressures with a simple button touch, and it has a feature to prevent tampering with installation settings. In order to remove the requirement of manually draining condensate from the buffer tank, the Gast team has configured the system to eliminate this issue entirely.
