Gas and combustion analyzers by Sauermann are compact, light, durable

The Sauermann Group is a major producer of industrial air monitors, meters, and analyzers that are available from Chevrier Instruments Inc. Three relatively new solutions from the manufacturer are the Si-CA series of analyzers: the Si-CA 030 and 130 residential and commercial combustion analyzers, plus the Si-CA 230 gas analyzer. Customers can use each of these devices with a free app that is retrievable from Google Play or can be downloaded from the Apple Store.

Combustion efficiency and more

The Si-CA 030 and Si-CA 130 instruments provide the latest in combustion-analysis technology in a compact, light, and durable package. Each weighs only 350 grams and contains up to three gas sensors for oxygen, carbon monoxide, and nitrogen oxide, with carbon-monoxide sensor measurement as high as 8,000 parts per million (ppm). Other benefits from these devices include predictive maintenance with estimated sensor life and calibration reminders, draft and differential pressure measurements, calculated carbon-dioxide percentage value, combustion efficiency and excess air calculations, and a protective rubber holster. Both are available with extended warranties.

Measuring 4.9 by 9.9 by 19.4 centimetres, the Si-CA 030 includes a colour display screen, automatic pump cutoff for high carbon-monoxide levels, and data management with automatic logging and report creation. It also has quick, simple pump On/Off control and carbon-monoxide safety monitoring in ambient air.

Similar in size, the Si-CA 130 has a large colour touchscreen, field-replaceable pre-calibrated sensors, and compatibility with app or PC software for data management. Also available from Chevrier, this instrument has a graphical data display, a customizable gas-analysis screen, a sample conditioning unit for low-nitrogen-oxide and high-moisture applications, carbon-dioxide and -monoxide monitoring in ambient air, a smart air-temperature probe, and a one-touch pump On/Off with purge.

The Si-CA 230 is a gas analyzer for emissions monitoring of boiler, engine, and other combustion applications. Accurate, dependable, robust, and innovative, this device has a large colour touchscreen and up to six gas sensors for various substances, plus carbon-monoxide dilution auto-range with measurements of up to 50,000 ppm. Other features: a wireless printer and stack gas velocity with a Pitot tube.

In addition, Sauermann has recently launched a flexible probe for these analyzers, designed to reach hard-to-access pipes in confined spaces. Its flexible shaft eliminates awkward positions during test and measurement applications. This flexible probe bends up to 90 degrees with a radius of eight centimetres; other features include easy return to the straight position, a two-metre dual hose with a water trap, and a 180-millmetre flexible shaft length.
