Food Grade tubing by Jacob protects product from foreign matter

Jacob's Food Grade line, available from Firing Industries, meets high hygiene standards.

Jacob tubing systems are available via Firing Industries Ltd. This includes a line of special Food Grade tubing, for foods and other sensitive products. The Food Grade line is the first modular tubing system to meet the requirements of the EC 1935/2004 and FDA standards for hygiene.

In an upgrade of the Food Grade line, seal parts are instantly detected and removed with Jacob Detectable Design, so they never end up in the final product.

Maintaining purity every time

Food processing is not the only operation in which foreign matter is not permissible. The Food Grade line is also suitable for transport of pharmaceuticals, chemicals, and other sensitive items that must meet strict safety and hygiene standards. Made of stainless steel, this pipework system includes more than 3,000 products that comply with the highest food-processing requirements. Jacob has carefully tested all of the components that come into contact with food and optimized their material and design.

The stainless steel in these components has a minimum grade of V2A/1.4301. This is true for every component, even the smallest screws. The heat-sealed U-shaped seals are produced with no adhesives, as almost all Jacob products are. This is part of how the Food Grade line complies with both American and European food standards, while remaining highly resistant to mechanical loads, high temperatures, solvents, and chemicals.

An intelligent upgrade of the Food Grade line, the Detectable Design line is even more innovative: all of the seals are made of silicone that is fused with miniscule metallic particles, so that metal detectors can spot them. If a ring, or part of one, gets into the production line, a detector can find it immediately, so that users can reliably remove it. Also available from Firing Industries, Detectable Design keeps all contaminants out of sensitive products, maintaining product purity every time.

The Detectable Design line includes U-shaped gaskets, ring seals, flat gaskets, rubber covers, compensators, and seals for valves, distributors, and pipe regulators. This makes the Food Grade line the ultimate modular pipework system.
