The VISCOFLUX mobile S drum-emptying system by FLUX, available from York Fluid Controls

York Fluid Controls is proud to make FLUX products available in Canada. FLUX has been manufacturing groundbreaking, state-of-the-art drum pumps and more since 1950, and one of its most innovative solutions is the VISCOFLUX mobile S drum-emptying system. Designed specifically for use in the food-processing, cosmetics, and pharmaceutical sectors, VISCOFLUX is the ideal pick for pumping high-viscosity, paste-like, non-flowing media from diverse drums, with or without aseptic bags.

A high degree of flexibility

The VISCOFLUX mobile S drum-emptying system by FLUX ensures efficient, process safety as it provides a high degree of flexibility, and users can operate it in wet or damp production environments. It leaves up to less than one per cent of residual amount in the drum, and the stainless steel mobile process device has an enclosure with an IP 66 protection class, making it suitable for wash-down environments.

Each complete VISCOFLUX system includes an F 500 eccentric worm-drive pump and motor and a follower plate with a process seal. Other important features and benefits of this drum-emptying system include mobile use, small space requirement, easy cleaning, gentle pumping of the media, easy operation, diverse control options, and a motor that stays attached to the process device while cleaning the pump. York Fluid Controls can also offer a pump with an impulse sensor, for contact-free flow measurement.

The process device is mobile and compact, with electronics and a battery that are protected against moisture. Two base options are available to fit multiple pallet sizes. The device is for use with aseptic liners and fits a wide range of drum sizes. FLUX recently began offering a process device for compressed-air motors.

Technical specifications include the following: maximum flow rate of 13 gallons per minute; maximum delivery pressure of 116 psig; maximum load of up to 100 kilograms on the process device; venting valves included; and three-phase, eight-pole motors and gear motors. Straight-sided, conical, and fibre drums are available; straight-sided drums are 560 or 571 millimetres (mm) in diameter, while conical-drum diameters are 550 mm at the top and 515 at the bottom.
