drum pumps

York Fluid Controls carries a wide array of FLUX drum and container pumps.

Since creating the world’s first electric drum pumps nearly 70 years ago, FLUX has been hailed as a leader in liquid-flow technology and a top producer of drum and container pumps. The Atlanta-based manufacturer, whose products are available in Canada from York Fluid Controls, is an innovator that offers pumps in a broad selection of materials and designs for a variety of applications, from oils and chemicals to food products.

Now with a pump motor

Manufacturing companies typically use drum pumps to remove dangerous liquids, such as low-viscosity and highly flammable fluids, from large plastic or metallic barrels. York Fluid Controls carries four main designs of FLUX drum pumps, for different applications: the F 424 Sealless, the F 425 for emptying barrels, the F 426 for mixing or emptying barrels, and the F 427 Sanitary Drum Pump.

What makes FLUX’s drum pumps stand out is that they are available in several different materials. Users can obtain them in stainless steel, aluminum alloy, Hastelloy C, polypropylene, and polyvinylidene fluoride. These materials are best suited to specific pumping applications. For example, stainless steel is an ideal choice for both flammable and nonflammable liquids, from organic acids to solvents, while aluminum alloy is better for water, oil, soap, and other less flammable fluids. Hastelloy C is recommended for flammable and chemically aggressive liquids like acids and oleum.

A recent innovation from FLUX is a pair of powerful new drum pump motors, the FEM 4070 and the F 457. These fully electronic instruments are efficient and safer ways of pumping hazardous liquids. The  FEM 4070 has an ergonomically designed handle that enables simple, one-hand operation for a rotary switch to start the pump and a choice of speed ranges. The F 457 is a compact, lightweight pumping tool with an optimal cooling system, low noise, and many speed variations.

For the right FLUX solution for pumping dangerous or corrosive liquids, York Fluid Controls is the right source. This Brampton, Ont. distribution company has provided a wide range of pumps, valves, and other high-quality industrial products since 1960.
