The PTi120 pocket thermal imager by Fluke

Chevrier Instruments Inc. carries the unique PTi120 pocket thermal camera by Fluke – and now, this device is even better. Fluke has upgraded this compact thermal imager with a wider temperature measurement range (from -20 to 400 degrees Celsius), enterprise Wi-Fi connection capabilities, and manual level and span, all at a lower price. This newly improved instrument gives users the troubleshooting power they need right in their own pockets.

Fast temperature scans of equipment

Businesses can start preventing disasters before they occur, rather than responding to them, efficiently, with the upgraded PTi120. Users have instant access to enhanced infrared inspections for fast temperature scans of electrical equipment, machinery, and more. This device is small enough to carry without worry every workday, withstands water and dirt, and can survive a one-metre drop.

This pocket thermal camera scans QR codes on equipment and sends the images with data and time stamps to predefined folders with Asset Tagging, through Enterprise Wi-Fi or an automatic upload after the user connects to the network or computer via USB. This eliminates the tedious business of sorting and organizing infrared images. The Pti120’s simple point-and-shoot technology empowers work teams to scan equipment quickly.

The PTi120 has an IP54 rating and a 3½-inch LCD touchscreen with a 120-by-90 infrared resolution and a field of view of 50 (horizontal) by 38 (vertical) degrees. The touchscreen offers IR-Fusion to blend a visible light image. The user can simply slide one finger across the screen to adjust the setting, to get the preferred level of infrared with every use. The imager comes with a USB cable for charging and data transfer, as well as a soft transport bag and an adjustable lanyard. Fluke Connect desktop software and a user manual are accessible through a free download.

Among the technical specifications of this pocket thermal camera from Chevrier:

  • Accuracy – plus or minus two per cent at minimum zero degrees Celsius
  • AutoBlend mode – continuous from zero to 100 per cent
  • Distance to spot – 130 to one
  • Frame rate – nine hertz
