flue duct expansion joints

HOLZ Rubber Company produces three types of flue duct expansion joints, available from NISCO.

HOLZ Rubber Company is a leader in rubber manufacturing with eight decades of success under its belt, and it is also a major producer of industrial expansion joints. This includes an impressive line of flue duct expansion joints, available in Canada from Northern Industrial Supply Company (NISCO).

Designed for industrial ductwork, HOLZ flue duct expansion joints are necessary for preventing leaks, minimizing noise and vibration, maintaining operational standards, and decreasing the risk of failure in ducting systems.

From baghouses to welding booths

NISCO supplies HOLZ flue duct joints for all ducting systems, no matter how extensive or what materials they carry. They are useful for a wide range of applications, including scrubbers, precipitators, baghouses, hot-air or flue-gas ducts, steam boiler systems, turbines, refuse incinerators, ventilation systems, welding booths, air conditioning, furnaces, fan connectors, and more.

HOLZ flue duct expansion joints have many advantages. They eliminate corner failure, improve engineering safety, increase movability, and protect equipment from harsh chemicals and gas that cause wear and tear. These joints also eliminate expensive gaskets, which reduces company expenses, while increasing engineering safety and lengthening cycle life. With all these benefits, they lessen the heavy duct workloads that workers may face over the long haul.

HOLZ manufactures three types of flue duct expansion joints:

  • Standard Movement. This joint is built for typical ducting movements and is ideal for applications that require major noise reduction, sound absorption, and vibration control. It offers high-quality protection for flanges and equipment housings, in addition to duct systems.
  • Maximum Movement. Recommended for FRP piping, this expansion joint is made to handle maximum ducting movement with superior axial and lateral movement capabilities, with no pre-compression or pre-extension. Compound molded corners prevent pre-stressing of reinforcing material before installation. Particularly effective with scrubbers, precipitators, baghouses, and stack flue-gas ducts.
  • Ultra-High Movement. With flows designed for ducting and fan applications, this joint is built with a large V-shaped arch that enables maximum axial movement while exerting minimal force on ductwork, duct flanges, and equipment. Recommended for positive-pressure clean-air systems with maximum axial compression and extension.
