Flow meters by Teledyne Hastings available in two main series

Teledyne Hastings manufactures two series of Digital 300 thermal mass flow meters.

Teledyne Hastings Instruments manufactures the Digital 300 series of thermal mass flow meters and controllers, available in Canada from Durham Instruments. These flow sensors are designed to measure mass flow accurately, without corrections or compensations for gas pressure and temperature. The devices are accurate to better than plus of minus 0.5 per cent of the reading, plus 0.2 per cent of full scale, for full-scale flow rates, ranging from 0-5 sccm to 0-10,000 slm.

From leak testing to calibration

Digital 300 thermal mass flow meters and controllers are useful for a variety of applications, like leak testing, high-purity gas delivery, heat treatment, gas blending, secondary calibration reference, fuel-cell research and development, and environmental monitoring. Durham Instruments recommends it in many industries, including general manufacturing, aerospace, automation, food processing, forestry, education, the medical sector, the military, mining, packaging, energy, and transportation.

These thermal mass flow meters and controllers use thermal-based sensors designed to offer exceptional linear response to changing flow rates. Each sensor has electronics precisely tuned to give quick response times. The flow controller has a precision solenoid proportional control valve, each of which is configured and tested based on the user’s flow rate, gas, and pressure conditions.

Teledyne Hastings produces two main series of these instruments:

• “A” Series. This series uses a 15-pin d-sub connector that is compatible with the manufacturer’s power supplies and cables. Another notable feature is the dual RJ communication ports for RS232/485 communicating. The “A” series is also backwards-compatible with previous models of Digital 300 meters.
• “B” Series (300 Vue). The 300 Vue series has an optional touchscreen display that enables the operator to view and control the flow rate directly from the flow controller. The screen can display the flow rate, flow setpoint, units of measure, and valve mode (Auto, Open, or Closed). Users can also access menus that allow fast configuration of the flow instrument for changing needs. The display can graphically show flow changes over time.

Both the A and B series of these instruments are compatible with Teledyne Hastings data-logging software.
