As a partner with Rockwell Automation for more than 20 years as a supplier of intelligent pneumatic devices, Festo remains innovative and aware of industry needs. From Nov. 16 to 20, attendees of Rockwell’s Automation Fair@Home virtual trade show can see Festo’s latest developments, like the VTSA-F-CB pneumatic valve manifold.
Automation Fair@Home will feature a Festo virtual booth, with an informative on-demand video of the VTSA-F-CB, plus a PowerPoint presentation with in-depth technical info. Visitors can chat with live Festo experts too. Other Festo products being showcased at the event:
- the CPX AP-I next-generation remote pneumatic I/O system, which supports better performance and easier commissioning;
- the CPX-IoT Gateway, for Industry 4.0 functionality;
- the CPX plus MPA, for maximum function integration and serial communication for electrics and pneumatics;
- IO-Link valves with Rockwell premier integration for quick commissioning and improved diagnostics; and
- the revolutionary VTEM intelligent valve pack.
The unique VTSA-F-CB (CB stands for C-Bus) offers integrated safety and EtherNet/IP connectivity, plus serial communication that allows up to three safety-shutdown-groups per unit.
Simpler installation of safety systems
This valve manifold simplifies the installation of Performance Level-d Category 3 safety systems through C-Bus plug-and-play functionality, enabling this level through an integrated serial bus backplane for pneumatics. The plug-and-play integration simplifies, speeds up, and reduces component costs when installing pneumatic safety circuits, which are for safe exhausting and preventive startup.
Compatible with combinations of pilot air control valves, soft-start exhaust valves, proportional valves, and vacuum generators, the VTSA-F-CB valve manifold is part of a platform that is a long-standing product in automotive applications. The new C-Bus variant adds the ability to control downstream valves and devices through an integrated C-Bus backplane. This device can substantially lower the amount of components and time necessary to set up a range of safety circuits. Through Ethernet/IP, Rockwell equipment manufacturers and other end users can control valves with safe switched power zones and monitor integrated sensors for safety feedback.
