control cabinet solution

Festo’s VTUG plug-in valve terminal and CPX-E control system, now available as a package, fit comfortably inside a very small cabinet to minimize project footprints.

To help machine designers reduce project footprints, Festo now offers two major products – the compact VTUG plug-in valve terminal and the CPX-E master/modular control system – as a package. Both fit comfortably together inside a small cabinet, a far more efficient use of space than other control cabinet solutions and also more cost-effective.

This compact, economical control cabinet combination is a response to popular demand for minimalist solutions for housing critical electrical and pneumatic control and monitoring systems.

Newly enhanced plug-in terminal

In addition to packaging it with the CPX-E, Festo has recently added several improvements to the VTUG terminal. This device has new panel mount manifolds, which make actuator tubing within the cabinet unnecessary, thereby reducing the panel size, assembly labour, and costs. The VTUG also has a new, practical hot-swap module that enables users to replace individual valves quickly during operation, without needing to depressurize the terminal and lose productivity.

Another addition to the VTUG is an SXF contour template, available when the terminal is configured online, which decreases the engineering time it takes to create panel production drawings. The VTUG has also been enhanced with back pressure check valves, fixed flow restrictors, and a supplied sealing gasket that provides IP69K protection. With all of these improvements, this plug-in valve terminal is an even better option for control-panel installations in the food-processing and packaging sectors.

The VTUG provides up to 24 valve positions in a fixed grid, as well as two possible functions per valve when the user chooses 2x 3/2-way valves. The terminal communicates to the most common fieldbus networks, like PROFINET or EtherNet/IP.

The CPX-E modular control system is distinguished for its rapid signal processing, compact design, and economical cost. It includes individual function modules that allow a flexible, modular design. Users can configure the system as a remote I/O system with bus modules or a control system with an integrated control unit, depending on the module combination.

For top control and monitoring systems, trust this Festo control cabinet solution.
