Pack Expo International

Pack Expo International has gone virtual this year.

This year’s Pack Expo International has gone virtual, and The Festo Group is showcasing its latest automation innovations. The lineup at Pack Expo Connects, from Nov. 9 to 13, includes life-science solutions for packaging and sample analysis during the COVID-19 pandemic, electric alternatives to pneumatic actuators, and distributed I/O.

Attendees of this online trade show can expect to see a mix of groundbreaking products and live product demonstrations by Festo.

Ten automation products on display

The Festo virtual booth will showcase ten automation products, such as a motion terminal for digitization of pneumatics, a smart multi-carrier conveyor for higher flexibility, and the CPX-E modular controller and VTUG valve terminal combination for boosting the density of I/O in a control cabinet and for minimizing tubing, to speed up and simplify installation. Festo product and application personnel will be on hand to chat with visitors, who can also download product literature and watch videos.

Attendees can view the following Festo live demonstrations at Pack Expo International:

  • automation products for the COVID-19 pandemic: new products for life-science organizations developing respiratory-care products, packaging, high-volume sample analysis equipment, and vaccine production systems;
  • inexpensive, easy-to-use electric alternatives to pneumatic actuators with built-in I/O link functionality for Industrial Internet of Things communications: the Simplified Motion Series;
  • the CPX-AP-I next generation of distributed I/O for pneumatics and electric automation on a single modular platform for such benefits as preventive maintenance and fast commissioning; and
  • the advantages from food-safety regulations like FDMA, in terms of better machine availability and energy savings.

Festo will also put on demonstrations of process automation for the food-processing sector, new adaptive grippers for end-of-arm tooling, and harnessing the power of product tracing in smart manufacturing. The company will offer two 15-minute presentations every day of the event. Click on this page to see the schedule.

Established in 1925, Festo remains the world’s leading supplier of automation technology and technical education. The family-owned corporation supports a wide range of needs for advanced solutions in factory and process automation. The company’s Canadian affiliate is based in Mississauga, Ont.
