Few manufacturers of assembly plants enjoy a growth rate of almost 40 per cent per year. But HAHN Automation does. To achieve this, the machinery manufacturer needs reliable and fast pneumatic automation technology and employee training.

“We get both from Festo,” explains John Baines, president of HAHN Automation, whose North American headquarters are based in Hebron, Kentucky.

In fact, the company counts on automation and Didactic products from Festo to support its growth.

Automation products

HAHN Automation is a leading manufacturer of specialist machinery for automated production, and most of its customers are in the demanding automotive industry, a sector that requires reliable solutions.

The company’s main concept is the MasterCell, a modular cell that can be used as an automatic single workstation with manual component placement, or combined into technologically sophisticated automation systems. The modular design is based on the principle of fast and cost-effective expansion in line with demand as production quantities increase. In the MasterCell, modern robots and leading-edge assembly and testing technology are used, making it suitable for challenging assembly and testing processes.

Festo automation components play an important role in the MasterCell concept. From the modular automation platform CPX/MPA, to pneumatic drives from the standard product range and pneumatic grippers, HAHN Automation uses key products from the automation specialist.

Didactic products

To meet the needs of its customers and continue to deliver quality products, it’s critical for HAHN Automation to have qualified employees with mechatronic expertise. The company is committed to training its employees, and relies on Festo’s Learning Center in Mason, Ohio to help with the courses it offers. The Learning Center not only offers technical courses and training programs for the core workforce, but it’s also a dual training system for young employees. The aim is to have participants qualify as mechatronics technicians after two years.

A trusted partner

Companies across the globe rely on Festo for its pneumatic and electrical automation technology, as well as its training programs. With more than 250 branch offices in 61 countries worldwide, including locations in Mississauga, Ont., Montreal and Quebec City, the company is well-positioned to help its customers grow.
