Festo Group appoints new chairman of its global management board

Festo Group and its Canadian affiliate, Festo Canada, are pleased to announce a major leadership change at the company’s world headquarters in Esslingen, Germany. The family-owned global automation technology company recently appointed Oliver Jung as the chairman of its management board. This new role follows years of success for Jung at other major German companies.

Jung is expected to take over the position on Nov. 1. With this appointment, Alfred Goll – who has been the official board spokesperson for two years – will now be the management-board member in charge of human resources at Festo.

A wealth of corporate experience

Oliver Jung joins the Festo team with a wealth of corporate experience behind him, much of it with major family-owned companies that operate on an international scale. His past roles have included prestigious executive management positions at Robert Bosch and Schmitz Cargobull. Most recently, Jung has also served as the chief operating officer of Schäffler AG, responsible for overall production, logistics, and purchasing; he also served as the manager of Schäffler’s bearing components and technologies division.

Festo Group welcomes Jung as he takes over such responsibilities as corporate management and strategy. Through this role, he is expected to help drive further development of the company, which is already the world’s top supplier automation technology and technical education in both the factory and the process automation sectors
