With the free, PC-based Festo Automation Suite commissioning software, users can get a new drive package up and running in only minutes.
Manufacturers can now get new drives running more quickly and easily than before, with the new Automation Suite commissioning software from Festo Canada. Automation Suite is a free, intuitive, PC-based digital tool for simplifying and accelerating automation projects. Users can parameterize and configure all parts of an installation – from the mechanical system to the controller – in only five simple steps, with the Automation Suite commissioning wizard.
Fast, easy, and reliable
Automation Suite is a fast, easy, and reliable tool for ensuring that a drive system is operational, as it retrieves only the settings that are required. Even a new user will master it quickly. The five steps:
This commissioning software is compatible with both Festo and third-party controllers. Its functions include parameterization and programming of connected components, displaying component status, and providing process data, so users can see any pending diagnostic messages immediately. By importing only the components, plug-ins and sub-programs relevant to the application, the interface can be customized for specific user requirements. Another advantage is that Automation Suite contains the basic workings of all Festo drive-related electric and pneumatic components; users can download device information, manuals, and application descriptions without opening new web browsers.
Festo continues to add capabilities to this commissioning software. Users can commission the CMMT-AS servo drive in minutes, with no errors, while expert operators can make advanced optimizations with the CMMT-AS plug-in, which offers access to all device parameters. The CMMT-AS drive can be integrated into the program of the Festo CPX-E controller with only two clicks. After the user has connected the drive to the controller by dragging a line onscreen, every other function is performed automatically, including integration of required libraries, linking of process data, and transfer of important axis parameters.
