pneumatic mini-slides

Festo’s new DGST pneumatic mini-slide is extremely compact and affordable, with the smallest footprint on the market.

The latest addition to the Festo Canada family is the DGST series of pneumatic mini-slides. Not only are these devices compact and affordable; they also have a superb price/performance ratio and the smallest footprint on the market. They are perfect for pick-and-place applications, small parts and piggyback handling, and press-fit functions.

DGST mini-slides are available with a choice of three cushioning types – elastic cushioning with end-position adjustment, the same without the adjustment, and self-adjusting shock absorbers with end-position adjustment.

With multiple design innovations

Businesses use mini-slides in applications that require repeatable precision with every stroke over millions of cycles, and the DGST line has multiple design innovations that make the devices excel further. Festo manufactures the slide and yoke of these pneumatic mini-slides as a single component instead of joining two pieces together, which ensures very high rigidity and perpendicularity. They also have a backlash-free yoke connection and a recirculating ball-bearing guide. Together, these features produce a technically optimized system with very small tolerances and high repetition accuracy. With the maintenance-free, twin-piston drive, the unit has higher power, greater load-carrying capacity and overall stability, and longer service life.

Easy to install and maintain, these user-friendly pneumatic mini-slides come in seven sizes, from six to 25, with stroke lengths ranging from ten to 200 millimetres. Users can join two DGST drives in several combinations without adapter plates, as part of automated handling and positioning solutions such as gantries. All the interfaces are symmetrical, while the supply port connections are on one side of each device. Operators can integrate proximity sensors into the mini-slide’s body, so no parts are projecting.

The newest member of the Festo Stars of Automation lineup, the DGST series is always available in stock with the quickest possible delivery times. For a glimpse of this mini-slide in action, check out the video below:
