Handles a variety of food products

Versa-Matic’s FDA-compliant food-processing pumps are useful for a number of applications, including product transfer, filling lines, blending, mixing, and ingredient injection. They can handle a wide range of food products, from condiments like chili, soy sauce, barbecue sauces, mayonnaise, pickle relish, and spaghetti sauce, to liquids like beer, wine, cream soda, root beer and juice concentrates. Other products include chocolate, salad dressing, syrup, confectionery and pie filling.

One of the traits that distinguish these pumps is their use of state-of-the-art technologies. Versa-Matic is renowned for its innovative approach to pumps, and it imbues the diaphragms of its FDA-compliant pumps with three unique types of technology: Fusion technology, which uses an oversized integrated plate to support part of the diaphragm and ensures leak-free operation; Versa-Dome technology, which uses a dome-shaped diaphragm to decrease wear and reduce stress; and Versa-Rugged technology, which is designed to handle tough solids and slurries.

Other distinctive features of these pumps include an exclusive Elima-Matic air valve system, hygienic wing nuts for easy assembly, hygienic tri-clamp fluid connections for fast disconnection, air section materials for chemical resistance, clamped constructions for fast teardown and reassembly, dimensionally interchangeable parts and air sections, and a smooth, clean casting finish.

Versa-Matic’s FDA-compliant food-processing pumps come in five distinct sizes and designs – E1, E2, E3, E4, and E5. They range in weight from 7.7 to 86 kilograms, in internal port size from 12.7 to 76.2 millimetres, and in maximum flow rate from 0 to 886 litres per minute. Other variations include suction lift, viscosity, and solids handling. All can handle temperatures up to 135 degrees Celsius and include 316 stainless steel as wetted casting material. Accessories are also available for improving performance and longevity.
