Attendees to this year’s National Industrial Fastener Show/West will have the chance to see more than just the latest products, as the expo also includes educational opportunities such as a full-day workshop on fastener technology.

The 35th annual National Industrial Fastener Show/West takes place October 21-23 at the Sands Expo Center in Las Vegas. It is the largest fastener expo in the world. Every year, the event attracts manufacturers, distributors, importers and sales reps from across the globe to show off their offerings and check out the latest technologies and solutions. More than 620 exhibitors (covering more than 800 booths) are already registerd for this year's event.

Continuous improvement through training

The show’s educational program includes a number of seminars covering topics ranging from effective team management to sales enhancement tips. The variety of seminar topics provides professional development opportunities for a wide range of roles.

And that’s important because the industry’s most successful companies — leaders like Ken Forging — say education and training should be a lifelong process. Ken Forging, an experienced metalworking forging company that has been serving the fastener and forging industries for more than 45 years, will once again be exhibiting at the show. According to the company, one secret to its success has been to never stop seeking opportunities for improvement.

“We are committed to continually strive to achieve the highest quality level attainable for our products.”

Technology workshop details

The fastener technology workshop is presented by the Fastener Training Institute. It consists of a full day of training on the practical aspects of working in the fastener industry. Some of the subjects covered include quality issues, heat treatment, product standards and materials, thread types and selection criteria, corrosion prevention and protection, tightening tools and methods, as well as vibration loosening and locking technologies.

The course aims to provide attendees with the knowledge needed to handle technical questions from engineers or technicians.

More on the show

The show’s other educational seminars include: “Are you making the most of specials?”, a program that explores ways to enhance sales; “Cognitive diversity and creative problem solving”, which focuses on how companies can gain an edge by working with diverse teams; and “The biggest sale you’ll ever make: your representative firm”, a seminar that discusses how to prepare in advance for when it’s time to sell-out and retire.
