The Gen4 Super Ion Air Knife, from EXAIR

EXAIR Corporation has just launched a new upgrade on its air knives, introducing its Gen4 line. The company has released its Gen4 Super Ion Air Knife, a new take on anti-static air knives with better performance – highly recommended for surface cleaning, neutralizing plastic, opening bags, printing machinery, packaging operations, and eliminating painful static shocks.

Thirty-four per cent better performance

With the new Gen4 Super Ion Air Knife, users can save both compressed air and money, as it offers 34 per cent better performance at low inlet pressures than the previous air knives. This results in a substantially improved production speed, product quality, and surface cleanliness with each use on plastics, webs, sheet stock, and any other materials that are prone to tearing, jamming, or hazardous shocks.

Like EXAIR’s Super Air Knife, the new Gen4 version minimizes compressed-air use by inducing the surrounding air flow at a 40:1 ratio. This increased air flow carries ions to the target, eliminating static charges from a material’s surface in less than half a second. Users can set the air volume and velocity manually, ranging from a “breeze” for wiping a surface gently to a “blast” that blows debris away with force.

Among the other factors that distinguish the Super Ion Air Knife are its metal armored high voltage cable to protect users against abrasions and cuts, its integrated ground connection, its electromagnetic shielding, and its uniquely designed selectable voltage power supply.

Another prime advantage of the Gen4 Super Ion Air Knife is that it has undergone strict laboratory tests to meet the highest health, safety, and environmental standards in North America and Europe. With its shock-free electrical ion source and its lack of radioactive elements, the air knife is certified not only by Underwriters Laboratories in the United States and Canada, but also by the Conformité Européene standard and the Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive in Europe.

The air knife is available in lengths ranging from 7.6 to 275 centimetres, at prices starting from US$399.
