UL-approved NEMA HazLoc cabinet coolers by EXAIR

Businesses across North America turn to EXAIR Corporation for top industrial solutions, especially those using compressed air. The lineup includes multiple-classified UL Continuous Operation Hazardous Location NEMA 4X Cabinet Cooler Systems. These HazLoc cabinet coolers are recommended for control panels that require constant cooling and constant positive purge. With UL-approved coolers, users in dangerous work environments can protect their electronics from heat, dirt, and moisture while keeping processes running.

Meeting strict UL requirements

These cooler systems have been engineered and approved for use on purged electrical enclosures in classified work areas. The approved areas include the following: Class I, Division 1, Groups A, B, C, and D; Class II, Division 1, Groups E, F, and G; and Class III. EXAIR has tested these HazLoc cabinet coolers to ensure they meet strict UL requirements for these areas. They serve as an inexpensive, reliable means of cooling purged electric control panels in these environments, using vortex tube technology to produce up to 5,600 British thermal units per hour (Btu/hr) with no moving parts – minimizing maintenance.

EXAIR offers HazLoc cabinet coolers in eight different cooling capacities, ranging from 1,000 to 5,600 Btu/hr. This gives customers a variety of choices to find the best fits for their unique requirements, without placing extra demand on their air compressors. For the highest level of efficiency, the company recommends its thermostatically controlled systems, which include UL-listed solenoids, also for dangerous work areas.

NEMA 4X Cabinet Cooler Systems are dust-tight, oil-tight, and splash-resistant systems that work for indoor or outdoor environments. Each incorporates a low-pressure relief valve that closes and seals when the cooler is not operational, to maintain the integrity of a NEMA 4X enclosure. The system also includes a water-dirt filter separator to stop water condensate and dirt from entering an enclosure, as well as a cold-air distribution kit that directs air for circulation or onto hot spots.

Because components can fail, sensors can misread, controls can drift, and displays can become inaccurate, EXAIR’s NEMA 4X Cabinet Cooler Systems have become an essential need for hazardous environments – preventing lost productivity, shutdown, and purchase of new components.
