air atomizing spray nozzles

Several kinds of air-atomizing spray nozzles are available from EXAIR.

For more than 35 years, EXAIR Corporation has led the pack in innovative compressed-air industrial equipment – including air atomizing spray nozzles. These units atomize liquids, most frequently water, in a broad variety of spray patterns for different workplace applications. Each blends fluid and compressed air to create a mist of atomized liquid that users can easily adjust to meet the needs of the specific task. EXAIR offers these nozzles in three different styles: internal mix, external mix, and siphon-fed.

Durability and corrosion resistance

EXAIR’s air-atomizing nozzles are available in 1/8, ¼, and ½ NPT sizes, and all of them are built out of stainless steel, which enhances both durability and corrosion resistance. Internal-mix nozzles are recommended for creating fine mists for dust control and lubrication layers before packing. They mix liquid and compressed air inside the air cap to produce the finest atomizing, and they can be used on fluids with viscosity of up to 300 centipoise (cP). Both the air and liquid sides require pressurization.

External-mix air atomizing spray nozzles offer the highest flow rates as they allow users to adjust the air and liquid flows independently. These units work best for applications that require exact liquid flow, and EXAIR deems them ideal for producing high-volume sprays for heavy coatings or heavy particulate control. External-mix nozzles are usable on liquids with viscosity higher than 300 cP, and both air and liquid sides are pressure-fed.

The third category, siphon-fed spray nozzles, requires no liquid pressure and can be used with gravity-fed liquid, or with liquid from a siphon height as great as 91 centimetres. This nozzle is appropriate for applications in which no liquid pressure is available or that need thin liquid coatings. Siphon-fed units are usable on liquids that have viscosity of up to 200 cP.

Also available are No-Drip variations of these air atomizing spray nozzles. These work for applications in which the liquid flow must be stopped when the compressed air is turned off. Liquid-atomizing nozzles are recommended for tasks requiring more liquid flow and no compressed air.

Trust EXAIR for the widest nozzle variety.
