An example of a Gorbel freestanding work station crane installed by ELS.
Gorbel™ work station bridge cranes and monorails, available from Engineered Lifting Systems & Equipment Inc. (ELS), increase productivity, reduce injuries, and are configurable to suit applications such as part assembly, machining, palletizing loads, injection molding, warehouse loading docks, process equipment, and service centres.
Work station bridge cranes and monorail enclosed track systems are designed to be modular, making them easy to install, relocate, and enhance with extended lifting coverage. They can be configured to be freestanding structures or ceiling-mounted and can be ordered to have either steel, aluminum, or stainless steel track materials. Enclosed track cranes are up to three times easier to move than traditional bridge cranes. With lifting capacity up to 4,000 lbs, these lifting systems can be used individually or readily adapted for more sophisticated applications by the addition of monorail tracks, curves, and transfers configured into a total system.
The primary advantage of these lifting systems is that they increase productivity by 28 per cent in comparison to an I-Beam crane. Many companies are reducing workplace injuries in light-to-medium-load-handling environments by replacing traditional manually operated I-beam jib cranes—the culprit of most push-pull repetitive-motion injuries—with more ergonomic work station bridge cranes.
