Equipment rental program offers increased opportunities and productivity

Engineered Lifting Systems & Equipment (ELS) has launched a rental program for its Destuff-IT machines, a line of products designed to aid workers tasked with loading and unloading floor-loaded product from containers and trailers. This innovative equipment has helped many warehouses, distribution centres and 3PL operations see a dramatic increase in productivity when handling floor-loaded product. And thanks to the company’s rental program, customers can experience these advantages for themselves on a temporary basis.

There are several reasons customers may want to go the rental route.

• Trial period. The rental program allows potential customers to try a machine in their facility and see the results first hand, without having to commit to buying the equipment. The trial period allows an organization to prove productivity claims, as well as create reasonable benchmarks and accurate ROI expectations for when a machine is permanently introduced.
• Seasonal influx. Companies may choose to rent a Restuff-IT machine to assist with the dramatic increase of floor-loaded product received or distributed during a seasonal high. The rental program allows organizations to achieve efficiency during periods of seasonal influx, while realizing noticeable productivity gains.
• Special order. Organizations may be anticipating a period where an increased number of containers/trailers are anticipated (i.e., a new product launch). The rental program can aid organizations in handling this atypical volume.

Currently there are two Restuff-IT machines under the rental program. At this time, both machines are rented. One machine is currently in Miami with pending rental reservations for North Carolina, Mississippi and Illinois locations.

The second machine was recently shipped to a customer’s facility in Saint-Laurent-de-Mure, France for a three-month rental period. Typically, the machine is rented with two 26-foot sections of powered roller conveyor; however, this rental was integrated with a Gawronski conveyor, as the customer’s intended application warranted a telescopic belt. In addition, because of the special application, ELS staff engineered unique modifications to both the Restuff-IT machine and the conveyor to aid in both the loading and unloading process. The machine will be used to increase productivity and improve health and safety measures for workers. The rental time will also provide an opportunity for the company to assess the feasibility of integrating up to 200 Restuff-IT machines into their existing operation.
