What are engineered fasteners?

What distinguishes engineered fastening devices from other fasteners is that they have been designed and developed by engineers to have certain special traits or to perform specific functions in specific ways. Daemar provides the following types of these components:

• Hose clamps. Rotor Clamp’s self-compensating hose clamps are available in standard hose sizes. They are ideal for low-pressure applications in single-wire, double-wire, and constant-tension-band configurations. Hose clamps expand and contract with hoses in response to temperature change.
• DMR push-on fasteners. These hat and retainer fasteners can hold components on plain round shafts, rods, and axles. Users simply push them onto shafts or studs, eliminating the need to find threads or use torque wrenches. Push-on fasteners also make secondary operations like notching, threading, and drilling unnecessary, which lowers costs.
• DMR plastic fasteners. Most of these fasteners are molded in tough, corrosion-resistant Nylon 6/6, although other materials are also available. Daemar’s large selection includes screws, nuts, washers, spacers, bushings, panel fasteners, hole plugs, circuit-board hardware, hose clamps, wire-handling clips, and cable ties.
• Constant section retaining rings. Uniform section rings by Ring Masters can function in housing or on a shaft at least as well as stamped ring. Daemar supplies internal and external constant section retaining rings with a variety of cross-sectional shapes.
