As a leader in the design and manufacture of welding solutions, Lincoln Electric has earned a reputation for its innovative and reliable product offerings. Its SA-400I engine-driven welder is no exception. The product is ideal for pipeline, construction and maintenance applications thanks to its rugged design and high performance.

Top features

For high performance, the SA-400I incorporates Lincoln Electric’s well-known pure DC generator design, producing the welding arc preferred by pipeline operators and contractors for precise control of the arc in demanding code applications. The unit also features all copper windings, which enhances arc stability for a smooth, high performance arc.

For stick welding and other processes where slope control is desired, the SA-400I engine-driven welder offers five current ranges with overlap, and allows fine-tuning within each range. With 400 amps of output at 35 per cent duty cycle, the SA-400I has the capability to weld up to 6.4 millimetres (¼ inches).

Another advantage of the engine-driven welder is its reliability. This is thanks to its reliable industrial diesel engine — a four-cylinder, water-cooled, 1800 RPM Perkins engine. This engine, which is known for its smooth and quiet operation, features gauges that allow users to monitor performance at a glance. Engine gauges indicate oil pressure and engine temperature, as well as engine hour meter to track scheduled maintenance. In addition, a fuel gauge on the control panel provides easy fuel level monitoring of the large, 16-gallon (60.6-litre) plastic fuel tank.

Additional details

The unit is compact for easy installation on truck beds, and features many options to ensure it meets the user’s exact needs. To learn more about the SA-400I engine-driven welder, contact Lincoln Electric Canada, which is celebrating 100 years in Canada.
