Endress+Hauser saw increase in sales, employment, and profit last year

The digitalization of industrial production inspired many customers of measurement and automation technology specialist Endress+Hauser in 2019.

For years, the right source for industrial measurement and automation technology in this country has been Endress+Hauser Canada Ltd. The parent company’s worldwide success has continued right up to last year. In 2019, the Endress+Hauser Group increased global net sales by nearly eight per cent, to more than €2.6 billion.

With additional increases in employment and profit last year, Endress+Hauser remains on course for further growth at the start of the 2020s.

Four hundred new jobs worldwide

The company created 400 new jobs worldwide last year. At the end of 2019, Endress+Hauser had more than 14,300 employees all over the globe. In its never-ending pursuit of better measurement and automation technology for new demands and requirements, the company has grown across all fields of activity, industries, and regions. The strongest impetus has come from Asia, while Europe, the Americas, Africa, and the Middle East have developed positively, though at a far slower rate. With its unmatched product innovations, Endress+Hauser has set a clear benchmark in the industry.

Order entry increased more quickly than sales did last year. As a result, Endress+Hauser has begun the new year with a substantially higher order backlog that it did at the beginning of 2019. This has enabled the company to maintain the return on sales at the previous year’s level – resulting in a healthy profit before taxes.

Endress+Hauser is expecting slower development and lower growth for this year. Sales growth is anticipated in the mid-single-digit percentage range, with an aim to maintain profitability at a good level. The company is going to present its audited 2019 financial figures in Basel, Switzerland on May 12.

In the meantime, Endress+Hauser will continue to supply the most up-to-the-minute measurement and automation technology to customers worldwide, including in Canada. The company has begun construction of a new Customer Experience Centre in Burlington, Ont., which should be completed in the spring of 2021. This generously equipped training and support hub will allow customers from central to eastern Canada to learn about new process-automation innovations. Features will include a Process Training Unit, calibration laboratory, and expanded workshop.
