Engineered Lifting Systems & Equipment is well known for making difficult jobs seem easy thanks to its lineup of standard and custom overhead material lifting systems and equipment. With more than 40 years of experience providing lifting solutions to a broad range of industries, the company has the expertise to guide customers to the right solution for their application.

For example, when one customer, a company specializing in powertrain products, required hoisting in its manufacturing and maintenance facility, it turned to Engineered Lifting Systems & Equipment.

The application required that there be maximum hook coverage relative to the area; however, standard bridge and workstation cranes did not provide the hook coverage needed. The customer required a custom solution — one that didn’t include crane support columns because the floor area needed to be as unobstructed as possible.

The company chose a custom two-ton Mentor Bridge Crane with a 46-foot span. The bridge beam was notched to clear roof trusses and offset on end trucks to be directly over one set of crane wheels, allowing the bridge beam and hoist to be as close to the wall as possible.

Another customer — a metal fabrication company specializing in medium to small production of prototyping and custom projects — also required a custom crane for its facility. The company required a 56-foot span, 10-tonne capacity overhead crane with a maximum hook height of 16 feet to service the machining, metal fabrication, welding, water jet cutting and laser cutting work areas.

The challenge of maximum hook height meant that one end of the crane’s low-profile bridge beam had to be engineered with a custom notch to clear the structure steel roof trusses.

The company considered several companies before selecting Engineered Lifting Systems & Equipment’s custom Mentor Bridge Crane for the job. It was selected because it allowed the customer to achieve the required fit and maximum hook height, and featured a robust design.

These are just two of countless examples of successful projects. To learn more about how the company can meet your lifting needs, contact Engineered Lifting Systems & Equipment.
