ELS’ Destuff-IT product line is now available from Johnston Equipment

ELS has recently partnered with Johnston Equipment, which is now the exclusive Canadian distributor for the Destuff-IT line.

Destuff-IT lift assists from Engineered Lifting Systems & Equipment (ELS) have proven to be a valuable asset for warehouses and distribution centres, helping workers load and unload products in an ergonomically safer way with greater speed and cost savings. Now, these unloaders have even greater availability in Canada. ELS has recently partnered with Johnston Equipment, which is now the exclusive Canadian distributor for the Destuff-IT line.

ELS announced the new partnership at MODEX 2018, the leading trade show for the supply-chain and distribution sectors, in Atlanta in April.

Decades of cost-effective warehouse equipment

Founded in 1954, Johnston Equipment provides precision, cost-effective material-handling equipment for warehouses throughout Canada. Its headquarters is in Mississauga, Ont., and it has 13 additional locations across the country, from Vancouver to Newfoundland.

ELS began producing the Destuff-IT line of lift assists in 2013, following collaboration with the Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO). The LCBO needed a new system to help its staff move heavy cases of liquor bottles with fewer back and repetitive-strain injuries. ELS designed the Destuff-IT line to make material handling not only safer, but also quicker and more efficient.

Destuff-IT lift assists work by optimizing the user’s positioning to the box wall inside a container, which results in much faster loading and unloading times. The adjustable-height hydraulic platform can move one or two workers vertically to reach heavy cases of products at comfortable heights. Users can also raise, lower, and pivot the conveyor to access container corners. The lift assist has laser sensors to prevent collisions and a pressure-sensitive ergo mat that prevents motion if no operator is aboard the unit.

With Destuff-IT products, warehouse personnel can move products very quickly; it is not unusual for a workplace to move more than 800 boxes per hour with this equipment. Customers have seen impressive returns on investment by using Destuff-IT, often saving tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars per year.

With Johnston’s help, Destuff-IT will make even more warehouses safe and efficient.
