Wainbee carries WAGO electronic circuit breakers.

WAGO automation solutions are available from Wainbee Limited, including various EPSITRON electronic circuit breakers, or ECBs. Each of these units blends a high switch-on capacity with an electronic relay and offers a focus on both safety and a top price-to-performance ratio. Users get reliable protection against overload and short circuit, plus activation of high-capacity loads of at least 50,000 microfarads, with no need to raise the nominal current setting.

Single or multiple channels

WAGO EPSITRON ECBs offer high channel density to save space in control cabinets, with a maximum width of only 45 millimetres. Some units are available with active current limitation, which stops the power supply unit from overloading during a short circuit. Each ECB checks whether the output current exceeds the nominal current; when this happens, the device switches off the output electronically by a semiconductor switch. The trip time depends on the magnitude of the over-current. A microprocessor measures the output current, the processing and calculation of the tripping time, and the actuator of the semiconductor switch as it monitors output channels. A graph displays the corresponding tripping times.

Among the benefits of EPSITRON ECBs, they switch off secondary-side over-currents and short circuits with precision, speed, and repeatability, even with long cable runs and small conductor cross-sections. Other advantages of these devices from Wainbee: selectivity, particularly in units with active current limitation; remote operation through digital input and output; quick, reliable communication via IO-Link protocol, signal contact, potential-free signal, or Manchester protocol; nominal current assignable for every channel; and compliance with EN 60204-1 requirements for switching ground faults off dependably after five seconds.

WAGO makes models with one, two, four, or eight channels, with current ratings from ½ to 12 A. Users get advantageous installation size and width; eight output channels in 42 millimetres, for instance, saves more than 70 per cent of installation space compared to miniature circuit breakers. Single-Channel ECBS are the slimmest of their kind on the market, at only six millimetres wide. The other models, up to 45 millimetres wide, have high channel density to save control-cabinet space.
