The DCF-1600 filter by Eaton

John Brooks Company Limited supplies fluid-handling solutions by Eaton, including the DCF series of mechanically cleaned filters. Two models in this line, the DCF-800 and DCF-1600, are perfect for highly viscous, abrasive, or sticky fluids, and they function at a consistently low differential pressure to deliver simple, dependable operation in which low initial investment is a major driving factor. These filters are available in twin actuator models, designed specifically for the rigours of handling hard-to-process liquids.

Wide range of flow needs

The DCF-800 and DCF-1600 are compatible with a broad variety of demanding tasks and accommodate a wide range of flow and retention needs. Other advantages of the DCF series: elimination or reduction in disposable filter bags and cartridges, for less operator-handling inventory expenses and landfill waste; lower product loss, with more thorough contaminant purge in a highly concentrated waste stream; reduction or elimination of user intervention, for safer operation; virtually no maintenance, for near-100 per cent uptime; compact design, with reduced capital cost to fit most installations; and stainless steel screens, from 15-micron slots to ¼-inch perforations, to handle a broad spectrum of filtration requirements.

Typical applications for these mechanically cleaned filters include paper coatings, pcc/gcc slurries, phenolic resins, detergents, petroleum-based greases, ethanol processing, hot fry oils, clean-in-place liquids like sodium hydroxide, starch, lime slurries, adhesives, curtain coaters, nutriceuticals, machining coolants, paint, ink, chocolate, edible oils, and tallow. The DCF series is available from John Brooks Company with UHMWPE, urethane, Teflon, or Kynar cleaning discs.

Eaton manufactures these filters with a unique circular cleaning-disc design that ensures intimate contact with the screen to clean media thoroughly and uniformly. In the DCF-1600 twin actuator model, two actuators isolate the actuation mechanism from the filtrate with a bridged system – which results in a long operational lifespan for the unit, even in demanding environments.

The DCF-800 weighs 34 kilograms (kg), measures 1.76 metres in height, and has a total volumetric capacity of 14.8 litres. The DCF-1600 weighs 97½ kg, is 2.591 metres tall, and has a total volumetric capacity of 41.6 litres.
