For decades, N.R. Murphy has been a major Canadian source for dust-collection equipment, fans, and accessories for industrial use. The company carries an impressive line of dust collectors, which includes several distinct series. These different designs makes this equipment suitable for applications in many industries – such as agriculture, the automotive sector, metal manufacturing, plastics, woodworking, and more.

Many shapes and sizes

N.R. Murphy’s four main series of dust collectors are as follows:

• FB Series – These are cylindrical, tube-style filters with mechanical cleaning, in sizes ranging from 11-inch inlet diameters to 138-inch collector diameters. Applications include small metalworking shops, schools, after-filters for cyclone collectors, and venting silos; industries include cement, food processing, mining, pulp and paper, printing, textiles, and wood processing.
• HE Series – Two models of continuous-duty, automatic self-cleaning dust collectors: HEC, designed in square, rectangular, and round modules and ideal for multi-shift operations in which clean, dry, in-plant compressed air is available, effectively filtering large or small volumes of dust-laden air; and HEF, designed in circular modules and suitable for applications requiring continuous cleaning with no compressed air available and with higher dust loads. Industries include cement, chemicals, foundries, mining, pharmaceuticals, and wood processing.
• MK Series – Four designs of square or rectangular tube-style filters with mechanical cleaning. These are very popular in educational institutions, but with their high performance with all types of dust particles, they can also be used in other applications, including food processing, foundries, powder paint, printing, textiles, and wood.
• C Series – Three models of cartridge-type dust collectors for fine dust applications that need large filter areas. The CMT and CMTE are inexpensive collectors for small applications, while the CP is a continuous-cleaning collector suitable for larger applications. Industries include chemicals, food processing, pharmaceuticals, welding smoke, and plasma cutting.

The company also manufactures other types of collectors for more specific uses. Cyclones, which are suitable for almost any sector, are useful as primary separators ahead of other collectors. The MRX Series consists of portable models for saws and other machines with low dust volume; these are quick and easy to assemble and install and are ideally suited for indoors with low headroom.
