shakers

Brüel & Kjær shakers work for vibration testing.

Brüel & Kjær manufactures a broad variety of industrial devices and equipment, available in Canada through Durham Instruments. This lineup includes an amazing selection of shakers, all of them under the LDS brand. Customers can choose from options with low, medium, or high force, as well as permanent-magnet options.

In addition to these shakers, Brüel & Kjær also makes several types of amplifiers, expanders, and thermal barriers to work with them.

For vibration and shock testing

Durham Instruments offers the following categories of Brüel & Kjær shakers:

  • Permanent magnet. Five designs of LDS electromagnetic shakers. The V101 is recommended for vibration screening of very small components and assemblies, as well as modal and structural analyses and other types of bench-top testing. The V201 works for fatigue and resonance testing, modal and structural analyses, and vibration screening of small components. Workers can use the V406, V450, and V455 for testing small components; the V406 works for laboratory experiments, the V450 for fatigue and resonance tests, and the V455 for vibration testing of electronics.
  • Low force. Air-cooled electrodynamic LDS shakers for vibration testing. The V555 can handle payloads of up to 25 kilograms (kg), like automobile and aircraft components; the V650 can go up to 50 kg, which includes aircraft instrumentation; the V721 can do small or medium-sized payloads up to 100 kg, including computer equipment; and the V780 works for vibration and shock testing up to 100 kg, like aviation instruments, satellite components, and automobile parts.
  • Medium force. Five kinds of air-cooled electrodynamic LDS shakers for vibration and mechanical shock testing. The V8 can handling payloads of up to 700 kg, including complete battery assemblies for hybrid vehicles; the V830 can support up to 160 kg of medium-sized articles; the V850 can do up to 350 kg; the V875 can handle up to 600 kg, including military hardware; and the V875LS also goes up to 600 kg and works for rocket and satellite components.
  • High force. Air- or water-cooled electrodynamic LDS shakers, for payloads as high as 2,000 or 5,000 kg.
