The eDAQXR by HBM Test and Measurement

HBM Test and Measurement is trusted internationally for world-class industrial devices, and Durham Instruments is proud to make these products available in Canada. For the ultimate in rugged data acquisition, HBM scores with the eDAQXR, perfect for testing in harsh environments and optimized for mobile testing. This rugged data acquisition system is an upgrade of the eDAQ, a layered system consisting of a base processor that supports up to eight signal-conditioning layers.

Good for numerous applications

The eDAQXR rugged data acquisition system is ideal for numerous applications in the agriculture, construction, automotive, railroad, and recreational-vehicle sectors. Durham Instruments also recommends it for use in aerospace, food processing, forestry, education, the medical field, the military, mining, packaging, power generation, and transportation. Application examples include structural testing for components or complete vehicles, product durability testing, and mobile data acquisition like test and acceptance runs.

Compact enough to fit easily into vehicles and other machinery, the eDAQXR is shock-tested to survive difficult work conditions, including rail environments. It has a high channel count for cars and recreational vehicles, as well as GPS sync for data collected on rail and on cars. Users have the ability to create powerful centralized data-acquisition systems by using expansion modules. HBM has added new features to the device, including robust file format to protect against data corruption, smart power management, and electronics with a conformal coating.

The three primary advantages of this rugged data acquisition system:

  • Extreme ruggedness. The eDAQXR is IP65/IP67-approved, with an internal power backup, operation from eight to 36 volts, ten-gram vibration, and 75-gram shock.
  • Flexibility. Browser-based software, a sensor database, and various channel types, including CAN, strain gauge, temperature, pulse, voltage, camera, and GPS. Users can also import from, or export to, Excel.
  • Reliability. The eDAQXR has three decades’ worth of proven experience. There are thousands of these systems in the field that are still running strong after more than ten years of use, trusted by high-profile businesses in construction, agriculture, and mining.

Many layer options and expansion modules are also available from Durham Instruments.
