Verder’s industrial fluid-handling products are available through York Fluid Controls Ltd. A recent innovation from the manufacturer is the Verderflex Ds500 metering and dosing pump, a self-priming unit with remote monitoring, highly accurate flows, and a peristaltic design that can pass liquids, solids, and gases, unlike diaphragm metering/dosing pumps.

Simple, inexpensive, predictable maintenance

This Verderflex pump is recommended most for such application areas as low-flow capacity range, dosing mode, continuous flow, and abrasive and viscous fluids. Verder has designed this unit to boost accuracy while also reducing costs, both direct costs (chemical use) and indirect costs (reduced tool-free maintenance and service). Users get simple, inexpensive, and predictable maintenance from the Ds500, plus savings in chemical consumption with high accuracy for metering and dosing, and tool-free cartridge changes that take mere minutes.

This dry-running unit has a touchscreen control panel for simple setup, adjustment, and use; it also has no valves, which prevents clogging and gassing problems while boosting abrasion resistance. York Fluid Controls recommends the Ds500 for abrasives and product with solids content, as well as viscous and abrasive liquids. Its accurate flow performance ranges from 0.1 to 500 millilitres per minute and handles pressures as high as seven bar. Minimal liquid “live” containment improves worker safety and reduces cleanup.

The tube is the Ds500’s key component. A roller or shoe comes onto the tube, squeezes it, and passes along it, effectively dragging liquid into the tube and creating suction. A second roller or shoe turns the filled section of the tube into a pocket or pillow of fluid, which is pushed out the tube’s other side, opening at the inlet to refill with liquid.

The Remote Assistant is another unique feature. This supports remote monitoring and ensures accuracy in the process and high value, with the help of Industry 4.0. Other benefits of the Ds500 include a click-and-go cartridge, a smoothed flow for improved dosing, and a small footprint with secure mounting.
