Desoutter manufactures 12 types of pneumatic screwdrivers, available from Dobco.

Dobco Equipment continues to be a leading Canadian distributor of pneumatic tools from a wide variety of international manufacturers. One of these equipment producers is Desoutter Tools, a world leader in workplace assembly solutions for more than a century, and one of this company’s most impressive lines of products is its pneumatic fastening tools – particularly its pneumatic screwdrivers, which provide a safer and more efficient way to fasten materials.

Twelve designs of pneumatic screwdrivers

All of Desoutter’s products are designed and built to meet the Conformité Européene standard, or CE, a strict certification that recognizes compliance with the high health, safety, and environmental standards of the European Union. These tools also operate at a line pressure in accordance with ISO 2787 and meet international sound and vibration standards.

Desoutter manufactures 12 distinct designs of pneumatic screwdrivers, as follows:

  • Shut off – push start;
  • Shut off – lever start;
  • Shut off – pistol grip;
  • Shut off – HLT;
  • Shut off – fastening assurance system;
  • Non-shut off – push start;
  • Non-shut off – lever start;
  • Non-shut off – pistol grip;
  • Direct drive – pistol grip;
  • Automatic reverse;
  • Electric – mains voltage; and
  • Electric – low voltage.

One of the more innovative of these tools is the FAS2000, or the fastening assurance system, which can verify that all of the fasteners in an assembly application are connected correctly, eliminating the need for additional inspections. This easy-to-use system compares the timing of pneumatic signals from the shut-off screwdriver with set parameters, in order to monitor the fastening cycle and generate output signals for OK and NOK assembly confirmation; by combining the output signals, the FAS2000 can indicate whether the fasteners are connected and tightened properly.
