precision actuation

Festo’s new VMEF/VHEF manual or mechanically actuated valves deliver great precision. For manual actuation, the VHEF (photo: left) offers a choice of “triggers” – a finger, handle, or toggle lever or a push button. VMEF offers a stem, roller-lever or one-way roller-level actuation.

Festo Canada’s VMEF and VHEF series of directional control valves make precision actuation possible with the lightest touch. These valves come with a wide range of triggering options for either manual or mechanical actuation. Depending on the mechanism selected, all it takes to actuate these valves is a finger or a hand, or work piece making contact with a trigger mechanism.

Touch actuation with minimal force

Touch actuation with minimal force means there is no energy to convert, no long cables, or extra response time. These units perform operations that result directly in a followup action, such as acting as a signal generator when actuated mechanically, or closing or clamping safety doors when actuated manually. The actuated stem switches the valve and triggers the next step in the process.

Each valve series has a different design for manual actuation. The VHEF series has a choice of triggers: a finger, a handle or toggle level, or a button, while the VMEF series provides a stem, a roller lever, or a one-way roller-level precision actuation.

Another advantage of these ergonomic manual/mechanical valve series is their robust metal housing, which makes them able to withstand sudden strong force and other occasional rough treatment. Users can install these units in a few easy steps, with no backlash at all.

All configurations of these valves are available as 3/2-way and 5/2-way valves, with G1/8 and G¼ connections, in addition to NPT variants. Festo also offers other variants, such as 5/3-way valves, depending on the model that the customer picks. And both series are priced attractively and competitively to save businesses money.

For the easiest precision actuation in a valve, invest in the VHEF or VMEF series.
