HARTING has upgraded its customer portal.

HARTING Canada knows that efficient data management can help save time and expense during the design phase of electrical engineering. This is why the company has adopted new digital services, which greatly facilitate data management. The HARTING team is currently working on new functions that will enhance its products significantly.

The myHARTING customer portal, which already provides many e-commerce functions for customers, offers these new functions. Anyone professionally involved with the company can register and use the service for free.

Whole collection of data

Behind every electrical engineering project are many individual components and, by extension, a whole collection of data – CAD data, data sheets, type sheets, and certificates. Workers spend more time on article research and collecting, converting, and storing information than on the design. Many HARTING customers still use old catalogues because of the notes and bookmarks.

The HARTING team wants to make this practical way of working possible in its online catalogue with its new digital services. The option to add items to a customer wish list has been available for a while, but now, users can add text notes for individual HARTING products. They can manage these notes in the customer portal and filter them for all the noted articles.

Other new digital services aim to provide product info and documents quickly when they are required in electrical design documentation. Design data, data sheets, and type sheets for all components often add up to hundreds of documents. Users had to download these from the provider in individual steps before. But the new data manager allows customers to obtain product information for up to 50 articles in one step, as a collected data packet.

HARTING has previously provided design info for products in STEP and JT formats, but more formats are used in practice. Many customers had to convert data into desired formats. The new MultiCAD function, available more than 13,000 items, makes two- and three-dimensional CAD data available for download in more than 50 formats. So HARTING articles can be immediately processed in the desired data format for design purposes.
