The HFC-D-302B digital flow controller

Teledyne Hastings Instruments manufactures a variety of top industrial measurement devices that are available from Durham Instruments. For example, the Digital 300 Vue series of thermal mass flow meters and controllers measure mass flow accurately, without any compensations or corrections for gas pressure and temperature. One of these devices, the HFC-D-302A/B digital flow controller, has a precision solenoid proportional control valve that is tested and configured on users’ flow rates, gas, and pressure conditions.

With optional touchscreen display

This versatile device suits numerous industrial tasks, like leak testing, high-purity gas delivery, thin film deposition, gas blending, pharmaceuticals, fuel-cell research and development, environmental monitoring, and medical research. Durham Instruments recommends it for use in such sectors as general manufacturing, aerospace, automation, education, food processing, the military, packaging, power, energy, and transportation.

All products in the Digital 300 Vue series include thermal-based mass flow sensors with exceptional linear response to changing flow rates. These sensors offer quick response times with precisely tuned electronics. The HFC-D-302B model has an optional touchscreen display that allows viewing and control of flow rates directly through the instrument. The main screen shows flow rate and set point, units of measure, valve mode, and change in flow over time and enables access to menus that allow fast configuration of the unit for different needs.

Other benefits and features of the HFC-D-302A/B digital flow controller:

  • 0-5 VDC, 0-10 VDC, 0-20 mA, or 4-20 mA I/O;
  • accuracy of plus or minus (½ a per cent of reading plus 1/5 a per cent of full scale);
  • all-metal seals;
  • digital extended range;
  • flow ranges from 0-5 sccm to 0-25 slm (N2 equivalent);
  • HFC-D-302 valve with Kalrez seat;
  • high linearity;
  • large-diameter sensor tube;
  • NIST traceable calibration;
  • operating pressure exceeding 500 pounds per square inch;
  • RS232/RS485;
  • status LEDs;
  • totalizer;
  • typical settling time of one to two seconds; and
  • USB port.
