Rust removal is one of Vibra Finish's most popular services.

Vibra Finish specializes in a number of valuable, environmentally friendly finishing services for machinery and metal parts, and one of the most popular among its clients is rust removal. Metal components can become prone to rust when they are not used for days, and this can seriously affect their performance – which may lead to lost productivity and efficiency.

Rust removal and inhibiting

Vibra Finish’s method of derusting is not unlike rust inhibiting, although there are distinct differences. Derusting removes all rust from the metal’s surface, but does not affect any other exposed metal or their tolerances.

The removal process includes an industrial wash and dry, using no harsh acids and leaving no powder residue behind. Derusting is following by the application of a protective coating with a strong rust inhibitor, usually Vibra-Glo 082G. Thus is a water-based inhibitor that provides short-term protection against corrosion and wear, with no nitrates and borates.

Vibra Finish uses and sells five types of rust inhibitors, all of which are safe for the environment. In addition to Vibra-Glo 082G, the company offers the following:

  • Vibra-Glo R-232, a short-term inhibitor for steel and iron;
  • Vibra-Glo R-501, a water-based short-term inhibitor for steel and iron;
  • Vibra-Glo R-601, another short-term inhibitor for steel and iron; and
  • Vibra-Glo R-695

Each is available in five-gallon pails, 45-gallon drums or bulk containers, depending on how much is needed and the relevant applications.

Derusting and rust-inhibiting services by Vibra Finish always have a quick turnaround, with metal parts clean, dry and protected. The company also provides burring, burnishing, descaling, polishing, cleaning, drying, corrosion-protection and peening services to keep industrial metals in the best condition possible.
