When applying protective tape to a pipeline, it can be difficult to create a proper seal on fittings of irregular shape. That’s why Denso North America offers the Denso Profiling Mastic — a cold-applied and self-supporting mastic for creating a smooth profile. This product provides a convenient solution to prepare fittings for a variety of protective tapes.

More information on Denso profiling mastic
The standard mastic has a maximum service temperature of 60 degrees C (140 degrees F). Denso North America also offers a high temperature mastic for use in temperatures up to 75 degrees C (167 degrees F).
The mastic is supplied in blocks that measure 1.5 by seven by 14 inches, and weigh 1.75 kg (four lbs) each. They are available in cases of six blocks that weigh 10.5 kg (24 lbs). The company provides estimates on its website for the quantity of mastic required for a given fitting type and pipe diameter. For example, a flanged joint with a four-inch diameter will require roughly 1.47 kg (3.25 lbs) of mastic.
As a leader in corrosion prevention and sealing technology, Denso North America offers a variety of moulding and filler solutions. For more information, visit the company website.
