Denso primer solutions help to ensure long-term protection from corrosion

As popular and effective as Denso’s petrolatum tapes are, they are designed to work in conjunction with these primers and pastes for maximum performance.

Excellent adhesive and protective qualities

Highly useful products in this lineup include Denso Paste primer solutions and Denso Bitumen- and Butyl-based primers. Denso Paste contains moisture-displacing, corrosion-inhibiting compounds for top protection, and users can apply it easily by hand or brush. The Bitumen- and Butyl-based primers, usually applied by brush, have excellent adhesive qualities.

Denso offers the following primer solutions in Canada:

• Denso Paste – petrolatum-based primer used primarily before applying most Denso petrolatum tapes. Also recommended as a temporary coating for exposed metal. Penetrates existing rust, displaces moisture, pacifies surfaces, and helps the adhesion of tapes and mastics.
• Denso Paste S105 – a wet/underwater petrolatum-based primer for damp or sweating metal surfaces, applied before using many petrolatum tapes.
• Denso Paste HT – a soft, light brown, petrolatum-based primer that contains compounds with better high-temperature performance for up to 190 degrees Celsius. Used mainly with Denso Hotline Tape.
• Denso Hi-Tack Primer – typically used for structural steel members in applications in which adhesive qualities are required. Used in advance of the application of Denso Hi-Tack Tape.
• Denso Primer D – a fast-drying, bitumen-based primer designed for metal surfaces. Used prior to the application of Denso bitumen tapes. With its high adhesion, Primer D can fill surface irregularities for intimate contact of tape compound.
• Denso Butyl Spray Adhesive – a quick-drying, solvent-based, high-tack primer that has been specifically designed for maximum adhesion. Applied by a spray and most effective on all surfaces before the application of various Denso Butyl Tapes. Fills surface irregularities for intimate contact of tape compound with immediate tack and good penetration characteristics.
