During the harsh winters in Canada, aggressive salting is an absolute necessity to keep roads safer and to prevent accidents caused by slippery road surfaces. But there is an unfortunate side effect of this task: as workers spray millions of pounds of salt and brine solution over the winter months, their equipment often suffers from corrosion and electrical failure due to constant moisture infiltration.

When fittings are corroded, the consequences can include hose failure, loss of control of hydraulic equipment, and spillage of hydraulic liquids – and the latter is a hazard to other vehicles on the roads.
