Different shim stock options are available.

Among the many essential industrial components available from Daemar Inc. are aligning solutions. These products combine cost savings, to protect the bottom line, with the performance and high quality required by design engineers. For example, Daemar carries shim stock products, like slotted shims, shim rolls and sheets, and plastic shim sheets. With this impressive selection of shim stock solutions, businesses in various sectors can achieve aligning tasks with unique needs.

Aluminum, copper, steel, and more

Daemar shim stock products include DMR slotted shims, which are made of 304 stainless steel and available in kits that each hold ten or 20 shims of more than a dozen thicknesses, ranging from 1/1,000 to 1/8 of an inch. They are permanently etched with size and thickness information to make selection simpler, while the wide slots and extended tabs increase versatility and ease of installation. The kit comes with a sturdy steel carrying case to assist organization, storage, and transport. Also available are six types of slotted-shim replacement packs.

Plastic shim sheets work for tasks that include risk of corrosion. Each of these shim stock products is 20 inches long, from five to 20 inches wide, and from 0.0005 to 0.03 inches thick, and businesses can request special slot widths. Daemar also offers 51 kinds of plastic shim sheets and three sizes of assortment packs.

Daemar supplies eight models of shim stock rolls, all of which are conveniently packaged in easy opening boxes that are labelled clearly for simple part identification and easy to store or transport. Customers can easily stamp, bore, cut, mill, shear, or drill these rolls for any task, and to ensure accuracy, they are precision-rolled. The widths go from six to 12 inches, with thicknesses from 0.0005 to 0.032 inches. Materials used include the following:

  • Aluminum – minimum content 99 per cent
  • Annealed steel – heat-treatable high-carbon steel
  • Blue-tempered – 1095 high carbon-spring steel
  • Brass – cold-rolled to a ½ hard temper
  • Copper – 110 alloy material
  • Nickel – 200-grade annealed material
  • Stainless steel – slightly magnetic because of cold rolling
  • Steel – stiff and springy, and most useful when hardness is required
